WHAT IS BELFAST LIKE?

Belfast is the largest city in Northern Ireland and the second biggest after Dublin in the whole of Ireland. The population is slightly below 300,000. Belfast played a major part in the Industrial Revolution when it became the largest producer of linen in the world. The RMS Titanic was also built there at the Harland and Wolff Shipyard.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Belfast was known as being one of the world’s most dangerous cities. However, after a recent survey, it is now regarded as one of the safest cities in the UK. It has a major port and plays a large role in the missiles and aerospace industry. It is also one of the most visited cities in the UK.
