WHAT IS RUGBY LIKE?

Rugby is a market town that lies close to the River Avon in Warwickshire. It has a population of under 110,000 people. The game of Rugby Union was discovered at Rugby School. Settlement has existed there from the early Iron Age and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Rugby began to grow rapidly with the coming of railways. Over 60 trains a day passed Rugby Railway Station in 1850 and this is what attracted workers to the town. It has more recently attracted engineering and cement production companies and is well served by the M1 and M6 motorways.
