11 PLUS (11+) FOR PARENTS – WIRRAL SELECTIVE SCHOOLS

There are 3 boys selective schools and 3 girls selective schools in Wirral. There are no mixed sex selective schools in Wirral. One school (Upton Hall) follows the GL Assessment (University of Edinburgh). Another school (St Anselm’s College) write their own 11 plus selection test and the rest follow for the CEM (University of Durham) 11 plus selection test.

WHAT IS WIRRAL LIKE?

Wirral is part of the Liverpool City Region in the North West of England. It is bounded by Wales and the rivers Dee, Mersey and the Irish Sea. It contains a mixture of affluent and deprived areas. Its name means ‘myrtle corner’ as it is believed that it was once overgrown with bog myrtle. It offers over 50 miles of rural cycling and walking routes as well as beaches. It has 14 golf courses to choose from and was host to the only Michelin Starred Restaurant in Merseyside until it closed in 2018.
